2008 Winner Kersten Biehn

The Cheiron Young Scholar Award for 2008 goes to Kersten Biehn, Sam Houston State University, for her paper, “Monkeys, Babies, Idiots, and Primitives: Nature-nurture Debates and Philanthropic Support for Anthropology, 1901-1941.” Cornelia Lambert, University of Oklahoma, has received Honorable Mention for the paper, “‘Living Machines’: Dance Education at Robert Owen’s New Lanark School, 1816- 1828.” The Committee had a tough time deciding among a number of very strong papers.
