Cheiron’s book prize committee unanimously recognizes as the 2026 winner, Nana Osei Quarshie’s book, African Pharmakon: The Asylum as Shrine from Slavery to the Return, published in 2025 by the University of Chicago Press.

Dr. Quarshie will discuss his work at the upcoming 2026 Cheiron meeting which will be held virtually from Thursday June 25 through Saturday June 27, 2026. Full statement from the book prize committee to come.
